Dhurringile Primary School

Dhurringile Primary School is a small rural school, with a current enrolment of 17 students, located approximately 30 Km from Shepparton, between Tatura and Murchison.
The school is serviced by 2 specialists who visit on alternate fortnights – the Mobile Area Resource Centre (MARC) providing many library related services and Mobile Art and Craft Centre (MACC) provided Art and related programs for students.
Dhurringile PS has a full time Principal whose duties cover both teaching and administration and an ongoing teacher who is employed 3 days a week. The school has an integration aide.
The school is well resourced in the area of Information and Communication Technology, with a computer for every child, and an interactive whiteboard for class and teacher use. In addition the school has an array of digital media including still and movie cameras, and an iMac dedicated to student multimedia productions.
A major building project was completed in June 2007, upgrading the administration and reception areas, a multi purpose room, storage staff room and space for visiting specialist staff to work with students and families.
The school has a history of strong parental involvement through fund raising, parent club, sports days, bus driving and organizing the junior School Council. The school hires a bus used to transport student to and from school as well as provide access to the Science and Technology Centre in Shepparton and a range of cluster activities. A feature of the camps and activities program in the school is the whole school family camp at 15 Mile Creek near Benalla. This camp affords an opportunity for students and families to interact in an informal environment, supported by qualified out-door education teachers who encourage children to undertake an array of challenging activities.
